I love it! It is truly amazing. I have had this for about 3 months. I use it with my macbook pro running cubase 5. Excellent control surface. I Love the jog-shuttle wheel, the motorized faders and the ability to connect up to 3 stereo monitors. Very quiet. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Very good audio interface.
I was almost giving up on it till I downloaded the latest drivers for windows 7 and mac os released 2 months ago. Since then, It’s worked perfectly. Great value for the price IMHO.
When going to the recording studio??
I have 12 completed songs written and now I want to record them. How do I do this? When I buy instramentals do I just bring that to the studio and we go from there? Also I don’t have any friends that Complete Recording studio Equipment Packages do music so in not sure if I have to bring someone that knows how to work the equipment or will there be someone there to put my voice with the music. I want to go to a prof studio bc I want a high quality sound. I know it will most likely be expensive but this is just something I want to do. I guess my question in more simple terms is…can I go to the studio with my lyrics and a cd with instramentals and someone be there to help me with the technical stuff???? Plz help!!

Recently was making a new studio, my original setup is a Mac running a MOTU 2408 MK3 and 24i expander with a Radikal Sac2-k controller, it all worked great. My latest studio is PC-based and I started by buying an M-Audio Project Mix. What a nightmare! Plugged it into 5 different computers, some it didn’t work on at all, others it crackled. I replaced Firewire cards, all kinds of stuff. Even when it was working, the slightest thing would break the connection, plus they warn DON’T HOT SWAP OR IT WILL DIE!
So I bought the MasterControl and it worked INSTANTLY and PERFECTLY on ALL computers across the board! Its control surface setup is great too. It’s so easy to customize buttons (in Cubase for instance, I like to have a button to turn click on/off and a button to return to zero). In a few easy menu presses I have exactly what I need. Plus it has a talk-back mic! I mean it’s just so good for the price, this should be way more popular than it is.

Words can’t explain how quick I’ve become with this device. I managed to get rid of my behringer mon800, gain transport and fader controls, and added a ton of inputs. This has worked great in sonar7pe, reasons, fruity loops (just remember to set port 102), live, and cubase 4LE. I’ve also used it on a macbook pro with Logic and Final Cut. The presets make this device hassle free since it has built in presets for most popular DAWs. I’ve had this for almost 3 months now and it has not given me one bit of trouble. Mic inputs are very clear. Still haven’t had the need to customize any buttons. Works flawlessly with most DAWs. This device can even run protools (as HUI). There is a template for each preset. Size is perfect. Colors match the MPC with the whole black, white, and red. I just hope Alesis will put out an 8 fader attachment to expand this. This has become the new centerpiece of my home studio and all my friends want one (not just because of the faders but because of how much more efficient I am as a result of using this).
