I recently purchased a Fender Passport 500 Pro from Amazon. I bought this to upgrade from my PD-250. I wanted the 500 to produce more volume for outdoor and large venues. However, I was amazed at how little volume it produces! My old PD-250 blows this thing away! I love the smaller size and lighter weight, but the sound output is pathetic. No complaints about the quality of the sound, it is top notch. Good luck getting people to hear it in a large area.
I finally had time to set them up side by side this morning. With the master volume at 50% and the input volume at 25%, the 500 Pro only put out 62 decibels. The old PD-250 put out 110 decibels! So, the Pro 500 is (supposedly) twice the size of the old PD-250, but produces half the volume. For large venues, this thing is worthless. This is my third Passport and I was very excited about the new design. Well, not any more.

For a small PA is is awesome. I use it for electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and for music. It sounds great on everything! Very versatile and the portability is great. I use it mostly for amp and guitar modeling with my Line 6 Pod x3 and Variax, and again is the best. If you play live and outsideI would recommend the more powerful models(300 & 500). For a small indoor show it is great. Good lows and good highs and you can tweak the tone a little and add reverb. It snaps together in two shakes and even has a compartment for cables. It is about the size of a small suitcase and weighs about 30 lbs. The upper models have a subwoofer out which would be pretty handy if playing a larger show. But, again if you need something for a small indoor venue for guitar, singing, or public speaking of some sort this will be more than enough. I give it 5 stars!

This product has work marvelously for us. We have used in indoors and outdoors. The sound comes out very clear, only issue is that it does buzz when not speaking and gets a radio frequency but could not figure out how to change channel. When you speak into microphone you have to get very close otherwise voice comes out distorted. Battery lasts a great deal and easy hook up to IPod player. Overall, very happy with product for price and do recommend to others who need a load portable PA system.

I bought this 600 watt PylePro because I wanted a docking station that was loud enough to hear on the beach and at large gatherings. It makes a hissing noise that can be heard while listening to the music. It doesn’t matter if the music vol. is low or high, it still hisses. In some songs, it hisses worse than others. I made adjustments on the bass & treble, but it didn’t matter, it still hissed. I lowered the vol. on the MP3 player, and that did not help either. This PylePro is a great idea, and if it did not hiss, it would be perfect! The cordless mic worked great, there are several 1/4″ inputs, the handle and wheels are a plus, and overall it has a professional look, BUT it hisses. UPS delivered it about an hour ago, and the longer I played it, the more it hissed. I’ve already contacted Amazon, and have printed out a RETURN authorization. I’m very disappointed because as I said, it’s a great idea if Pyle could remove the hiss. I read about the hiss in other reviews, but I guess mine would not do it, but I was wrong. DON’T BUY IT if you want a pure sound.

I needed a PA system for outdoor parties. Was concerned about spending any money and having the product not perform well. I have had the product for two days and It sounds great!! Wireless Mic works well..I have not tried it from any great distance away. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

I bought this PA for use at my restaurant/bar. We needed something to play music outside and be able to use a microphone. This thing has filled those needs admirably. The mic works great, the iPod docking station is a nice touch. It does take a little practice getting the iPod docked, but it also allows enough room that I did not have to take my iPod out of its case to connect it. When I turn the PA up past halfway, their can be a little distortion with music, but even halfway is loud enough for small to medium groups outside, but don’t expect this to project over hundreds of people outdoors. (which for the price, I doubt any reasonable person would.) This thing would be great for tailgate parties, pool parties, family reunions, etc.

The Fender Passport PA System offers the best in terms of professionalism, quality, dependability, versatility, performance and value.
No, I don’t work for Fender or for Amazon.com, they aren’t paying me for my comments here and in fact they probably have never heard of me and don’t even know who I am. So, for what an honest, unbiased opinion is worth, take it from me, just another consumer looking for a good deal like you, but one who has used the Fender Passport system for many years.
Demand the very best — pick up a Fender Passport System (with the low prices from Amazon.com) for your next event, for in-home use, parties, and random announcing and amplified activities. With the economy in the tank thanks to Obamanomics, I’ve been seriously considering setting up the Fender Passport alongside the on-ramp to the nearby Interstate to boldly declare: WILL ANNOUNCE FOR FOOD!
Check the specs on this great Fender Passport unit; it’s basically a very fine, high-quality, fully self-contained portable public address system with several inputs and outputs, two great speakers, a microphone, plus the power cord and cables necessary, all bundled together with the great results we’ve gotten from Fender for so many eyars.
The Fender Passport cranks out tons of power, more than I’ve ever, ever needed. One of the neatest things is that it all fits together into one fantastic package that weighs less than forty pounds.
The Fender Passport looks great and works great, it’s all good with Fender, yes, indeed, a name you can trust that’s been around since before most of us were born.
As a professional announcer, I’ve been using the Fender Passport off and on (no pun intended) since 1998 and can testify to the many fine attributes that this system has.
I recommend the great Fender Passport sincerely and give it my highest personal and professional rating.
Let me also add, with Amazon.com standing behind you and everything they offer, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Amazon has great prices and you can easily fit this into your budget.
Put it on the credit card today and start using your very own Fender Passport this week. Let me know the results; I wish you all the best, always. Take care.

I really like this system. For 10 years I’ve used a Fender Acoustisonic Amp and have been very happy with that. My purchase of this system was based on the reliability and sound of my Acoustisonic. I wanted a PA so when friends come to play they don’t have to haul an amp with them. The Pro 500 is very easy to set up and dial in. My use would be limited to at home indoors, and outdoor parties. This may be overkill for my uses, but I really wanted the flash drive recorder. That alone makes the system very useful. My friend and I recorded 3 parts, then as fast as I could push a button we could play along with different instruments to what we just recorded. For practice or playing out, the flash drive is a great tool. Hope this helps you.

This product arrived in ONE day .. even before the shipping information hit the computers. Good job FedEx. I’ll test this product tonight.
Ok.. set it up in a medium sized room with about 100 dancers. After a bit of tweaking, patrons said they couldn’t tell the difference between it and the house PA. Took it to another room yesterday and cranked it up.. no problem. This thing even makes my Yamaha piano sound much better than the Roland KB amp.
Love the way it packs up and how light it is.

This is a great package compared to the Ion. It has more power, it produce cleaner sounds at the higher volume.
It has 3 drivers so that the sounds is clear and loud. Works well with the Ipod Dock on top.
The wirelss mic works great, except that you really have to speak up to the center of the mic to use it.
It is fun for tailgating, even a casual kareoke with friends.
Used this on the tennis courts as a background music and it is more that enough volume to be heard clearly 4 courts away.
great for backyard parties too.
I use the top handle to help the dock to support the weight of the Ipod.
The package feels more robust, and heavier duty than the Ion. Feels like a true PA system quality (Ion feels like a toy to me, but a great toy) A bit heavier, but you also getting more from it.
Highly recomended, especially for the price.

This system has nice power and is very good especially for outside activities. I like the IPod docking station and the multiple line inputs. Although I like the sound and the fact that it is portable, I found the wireless mic to be of poor quality. Be prepared to provide your own quality mic. This is a nice product for a reasonable price.

first one tagged “factory refirbished” arrived bad -loud noises in background, ipod dock bad , tone controls not working, then they sent another which arrived with parts rattling around inside, and dented handle. Main transformer was not even bolted down, screws had not been retightened when they “factory serviced” it. After rebolting the transformer this one works except tone controls (apparently on all units) do not adjust the tone for the mic a and line inputs-just the ipod, which I find deceptive.

Although wireless mic has limited range from the system, the convenience of portability with the rechargeable battery and being able to plug in an iPod for music makes this product a good value for the money spent. Sound quality, clarity, and volume are excellent for something fairly small and weighing less than 50 lbs. Our boating club uses it at the beach for annoucements and back ground music.
