Beneficial tips on Dual Reverb Processor
Author: DJEquip // Category: Home Recording Studio Equipment
I am a jazz guitarist and longtime fan of Pat Metheny. Could never get the sound right. This thing
nails it (not surprising since Pat uses Lexicon equipment.) Reverse reverb + chorus. Also can get
very close to Scofield, Stern, Frisell sounds out of it pretty easily. A pain to carry around if
you don’t have a rack but still worth it. Lexicon should really put the thing in a stompbox form
factor.
Bioshock Help? 2k Logo crash!?
I installed Bioshock because I wanted to get it before I decided to play Bioshock 2, and for a few days it worked fine, I got to the part where you enter Arcadia, I even left it on overnight when it first started because the plane crash scene with the water and the fire was pretty awesome with high details, no problems, no freezes, no stutters. My system is completely capable of running this game. I had my computer off for the weekend and when I come back, every time I started up it would crash to black screen after the monograph thing and the 2k logo. I’ve tried a few forums and tried the following:-Update drivers for sound, video, motherboard.-Uninstalling and reinstalling video, and soundcard.-Uninstalling and reinstalling Bioshock itself-Turned off sound options (EAX, Reverb) through the “Default” config.-Sound compatibility Dual Reverb Processor mode was turned on and then off after failure.-Tried in compatibility mode AND running as administrator. -Disabled my high definition sound enhancements-Removing overclocks to components (because I heard that Bioshock was very sensitive to overclocking)-Made sure I had no GOM conflicting programs or any thing like that. These are my system specs (which should run it easily but I don’t know what the problem is):Windows Vista 32-bit with all current updatesEVGA P55 FTW mobo4 GB Corsair Dominator-GT memory DDR3 in Dual-Channel modeCore i7 875k processor @ 2.93GHzUsing the onboard sound (since the sound card really is crappier than the 8 channel Audio setup)Single Nvidia GTS-250 1 GB graphics (Thought SLI would be the problem, apparently it’s not)If anyone could help, that would be amazing, thanks. Thanks for answering, the case is a Cooler Master HAF(High Air Flow) 932, with a total of 7 fans/cooling devices: 1- 230mm in front, 1- 230mm fan on top, 1- 230mm fan on side, 2- 140mm fan on bottom, A corsair Dominator memory dual action fan for the Ram, and an H50 High-Performance water cooling system for the CPU. I checked my E-Leet optimization and overclocking tool for a quick temperature readout and it’s 29C in the CPU, VREG is at 32C, and the system itself is at 27C.It’s a Full tower case, brand new, and plenty of vents for airflow and even dust-screens in the vents, so I don’t think it’s the problem, either way I just unplugged everything and took off the door (tool-less entry, I love it!) and used a high-powered air duster in the fans, dust shields, and between heatsinks and everything. Started back up and had the same issue.
Thanks for the suggestion though. Anything else?
