When the speakers worked, I thought they sounded fine. They aren’t so expensive and I didn’t expect audiophile sound quality.

Ever since I bought the speakers, the volume control would crackle a bit. It’s been about a year and a half and now the powered speaker is messed up. I have to turn the volume all the way up (on the speaker’s control) to get even a little sound out of it. As other reviewers have stated, it’s not worth it to send the speakers back to M Audio. When I tried their customer support, all I got was automated messages on the phone and could never speak to a real person. I did get e-mail help, but that is such a pain in the butt. Sending the speakers in will cost you too much in both shipping and repair fees.

If I’d have known that these speakers were the disposable type, I wouldn’t have bought them.

When Will The Makers of Pro Audio/Video Hardware…?
…actually start making Professional level stuff that can run on something other than XP?Especially when we are dealing with equipment that can easily top $15K! I mean, the great unwashed are always trying to tell me that all pro audio/video stuff will run on VISTA. Of course, they are all wrong, but…Anyway, when will the next generation audio/video stuff come out. I mean, let’s face it…the only reason MS didn’t toally stop supporting XP is that almost all of the major players in audio/video editing and production Pro Audio Video Equipment have equipment setups that will only run under XP.Thoughts?Gladious: Yeah, it is a royal pain, especially seeing as how most of the hardware also doesn’t play nice with ANY 64-bit system. I mean, we moved to an i7, but we are limited to 3Gb RAM. GRRRR!nberg: I don’t use Macs because…1. They are overpriced.2. They are not upgradable.3. Our clients all, yes all, run PCs.4. We have thousands invested in audio/video hardware and software. Also, I personally do NOT like MACs.I don’t want to turn this into a MAC v PC argument. NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PIXAR, ADV FILMS, GENEON, FUNIMATION, WARNER, BANDAI, GAINAX all use PC based stuff. This is not to denigrate MACS, or those who use them…it is just NOT an option for us.My problem is with a particular OS, which runs fine, but will eventually be phased out. I am entirely satisfied with my PCs.BTW, that response wasn’t meant to be mean-spirited…it is just that I hear it all the time…and it is just flat incorrect. The majors use PCs…and some MACs. The clients pay the bills…and the clients use MACs.SH!T…I meant to say the clients use PCs. WTF? Never get old, it is bad for your head. LOL
