I saw the Numark Stealth controller at Guitar Center and was very impressed by it’s rugged metal housing. Someone on here pointed out that it has plastic knobs, duh! Everything on up to muti-thousand dollar equipment has plastic knobs. That’s just how they make ‘em. If you want better plastic knobs or even metal ones, replace ‘em. There not that expensive. Find ‘em at Digi-Key Corp., Electronic Hardware corp., or somewhere else. Spec’s for the small ones are: diameter – 10mm with 12mm skirt, 6mm shaft, height – 20mm. The single large one is: 15mm with 19mm skirt, 6mm shaft, height – 23mm.My only criticism is the knobs are the same color as the surface. In a dimly lit nightclub, a contrasting color would’ve been the smarter choice. I’ll probably replace the knobs at some point in the future.I like the fact that the jog wheels spin when you spin ‘em. Most of the other manufacturer’s wheels stop dead, apparently from dampening.Unfortunately, Traktor LE isn’t compatible with Mac OS 10.4
I just lost an ebay bid for a Numark Dj Equipment numark dual cd player. But I like the old school look of vinyl. I know cd sounds better but should I go for vinyl? What are the pros and cons?

Easy to plug and play. Just 1 problem, the jog weel is rotates too much when you just touch it.

The Numark OmniControl is a fairly good piece of kit for beginning bedroom dj’s or anyone looking for a simple tool to do some basic mixes for a house party. Its of very solid build and has a good feel to all the moving parts. The built in sound cards actually perform quite well, and I’ve gotten great sound quality on everything I’ve hooked it up to. From surround sound systems to the hi-fi to a set of studio monitors. High volumes are a little iffy when hooked to my larger Cerwin Vega pa system, but its barely noticeable even then.
A great intro piece for an aspiring dj, or a cool little mixer to sit next to your desk/laptop. For a small party I can have everything I need to mix in just a messenger bag. My only complaint is that while it functions great with Traktor LE,(which it comes with) it has some mapping problems in Traktor pro. Effects dials and buttons don’t do what they are supposed to without some mapping. Its frustrating to not have my reverb come on when I hit the button to activate it. But all in all for the price, you can’t go wrong.
I would recommend this for starting djs to see if they actually like djing without investing 1k+ on pro level gear. To the mobile DJ that wants to supplement the gear already owned with a midi controller. Or to the bedroom or pro dj who wants a small functional midi controller that has great portability.

I like the omni control, She is very robust and it functions well.
Material of good physical quality, all of aluminum.

Yep, this is a fun product. Right price, for the right hardware. I’m not a pro, but I do like to mix music. The feeling of having a crowd pleased, dancing, and watching people bob their head at the tracks I play is a good feeling, in fact is a feeling like no other. I think DJs have the best job in the world. But like I said, I’m not a pro, so this is the closest I can get to the pro feeling, not too complicated, but not a toy. Software that comes with it is a bit lagging. I had to upgrade to the latest version of Traktor to get that pro feeling going, (oh yeah, it it was not easy to configure the MIDI to get to work correctly, eventually I got it done) and that’s the only reason why I won’t give it 5 stars. I think that it should come with more capable software for recording and mixing your tracks, ready out-of-the box.
Looks great too, I’ve taken this thing to a few parties, along with my laptop and I plug right into their sound system, it looks like a real DJ setup. It is heavy duty, sturdy, sound quality is great. This is actually an upgrade for me, I had the MK2 which was more of a toy that I quickly outgrew. This one is just right, price and quality are great.

For an amateur DJ as myself (small to medium home parties) this is a great device. It’s not only great thing for the “DJ activities”. I actually discovered this is a nice way to connect iPod to my stereo system. It provides nice output sound level and iPod finally sounds perfect on my main stereo. This last thing alone is an excellent reason to get this mixer.

Always wanted to be out of the ordinary? Want to try something new and interesting? Why now become your own DJ and learn the skills and talents to mix music into something of your own. This includes a microphone input with tone and level control, line inputs for other devices on both channels, and a 3′-band EQ with gain control on both channels. What a deal, with this nifty mixer, you could become the life of and the entertainment of the party.

I bought this for practicing my sets in my room, or where ever I can. That, and I wanted to venture into Native Instruments territory (I use Serato).
Build Quality – I wish there was more metal parts (like a heavy mtal plate for the bottom), but it doesn’t matter becasue it is light weight, and I can retrofit (hack) a metal plate of my choosing. . .but that’ll be later. The buttons are responsive. With Traktor LE, it works flawlessly (packaged with it). I’ve had no issues with it, and I was fairly impressed with the build quality (being that it’s ALL plastic).
My only concerns are pretty small:
1) The Faders.
Over time, thy may get too wobbly, but I’m pretty sure there will be some after market parts (Innofader?) to replace these. Or I may just replace them (line faders) myself with smoother ones.
2) Conencted USB.
This is the part where I don’t agree with it. I hack a replacement so I can simply remove the USB cord. But really, it’s not a deal breaker.
Price – How can you say no? $150 (no sound card). Rumors show that Numark and Native Instruments may put together a package with a sound card. If you don’t want to wait (like I did), you may want to pick up either a Numark StereoIO (roughly $35-$40 ), or spend the good quality on a Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ ($100). I got the latter and the output is great. And with Traktor LE being from NI, Set-up is a FRIGGIN breeze.
If you looking to get started, or want something to just mess around with, don’t even hesitate on this!

I didn’t hesitate purchasing the Numark Mixtrack. After coming across
the link on accident looking at other DJ products. I went to the Numark
website and read more about this Dj Controller. I then went to Youtube
and watched a couple videos on it. I then came here to Amazon to purchase
it the same day after finding out about it.
I’ve used a lot of Dj controllers before. At Parties, Clubs, Weddings ect.
I always found the more expensive controllers to have the best features. But
with the Mixtrack….I am proven wrong. This controller ranks up there with the
best in my opinion. When I compare this to great controllers like The VCI-300,
The NS7, The Mixdeck, ect. You with this Dj controller can’t go wrong. You’re
getting a $150.00 Dj controller with all the features Dj’s look for, at an affordable
price! With this you’re getting a more real time djing feel. You’re getting
nice Dj platters/jogwheels, effects, editing tools and a good program. This is
a perfect tool to have on those days you dj a gig. But don’t want to bring your
regular djing equipment. Also if your a beginner looking to learn the art of
being a Disk Jockey. This is the right product to learn on.
With this controller, you would need to get an audio sound card. To be able to
hear what your doing with headphones. Native Instruments the same company that
makes the included Traktor program. Has a sound card called the Audio2Dj and Numark
has the DjIo Sound card. There are other sound cards available also. The Mixtrack is
premapped for use with all Traktor djing programs (Traktor Cue and Traktor Pro) and other
approved djing software and hardware. Bottomline is this thing is made to perform and
can hold it’s own with the big boys. Numark has really outdone themselves with the
Mixtrack, and with the success of the NS7, V7, and Mixdeck. Numark can go ahead
and add this to the list of accomplishments.
Intermediate and Advanced Dj’s can get enjoyment out of this product. Speaking as a Dj myself,
using this has not made me miss hot days in the garage mixing it up on my acoustic djing equipment.
Now I got something I can use and take with me on the go and use anytime. Not to say this is going
to make me stop using my SL1200’s and DJM 600. But now I got another option till I get my Numark
Mixdeck. Numark has also came out with the IDJ3 which is a similar controller. But it has an Ipod
dock, and has a built in headphone jack and mic output. The IDJ3 cost $300 but has all of the same
great features as the Mixtrack. So to end this, I recommend the Numark Mixtrack to everyone that
wants to either learn, entertain ect. A very great Dj Midi Controller for an even more amazing price!

This product does exactly what it says it does. It creates a second output channel to monitor cue tracks in various DJ and music production software. By allowing you to route directly to headphones, you can preview what will be played next before sliding the cross fader over. Set up is simple and can be done in minutes (very intuitive even for novice DJ’s and musicians). Directly connect to your monitors/speakers through the back, headphones go in the front, USB to the computer, run the software and you’re ready to rock!
I had no problem using this device with Ableton Live 7, Traktor Pro or Virtual DJ 3. I am running a Gateway laptop with Windows Vista. Other reviewers who have had difficulties with this unit either had out of date drivers for the hardware and/or software or were using hacked warez versions that make USB support difficult and sketchy.
I recommend getting a USB MIDI mixer to use with your software of choice to truly take advantage of this interface.

I bought this a week before I switched to Windows 7. I was using it on Windows Vista Business 64bit and it worked great along with Traktor Pro, however, it doesn’t seem to like Windows 7 at all. This could just be a Traktor problem, but all my drivers are up to date and such. When it did work, the sound quality was amazing. I reformatted last night to Windows 7 64bit and have yet to try it out, but I hope it works better than it did on 32bit. If you can it to work, then it is a great product that I would highly recommend. I have many friends that use this, and the week I did have it working it was amazing.

Not sure what the problem was with the guy who said this soundcard doesn’t work with Virtual DJ. I use it for gigs and they work perfectly. Granted I am a computer professional and you do have to set the latency to accomodate your laptop (if it’s slow, increase the latency). I have a super fast laptop penryn Core 2 processor Ocd to 2.59GHZ with 6MB of L2 cache 4Gigs of PC5300 SoDimm RAM and a 500gig HD. Yes I put this monster together go to [...]
Virtual DJ works great, so does Deckadance, you name it. I’ve had soundcards from MOTU, Indigo, Creative, all great but the simplicity and small form factor (except the Indigo DJx PCI Express – that thing is almost too small but also sounds amazing) and the fact that it has RCA outs configurable for your mains (2 virtual turntables if you want to pipe them out to an external mixer – you name it) and 1/4in outs for your headphones and 1/4in in for a mic. This thing rocks!!

the cd player mixer system works greater than i expected. dealing through amazon and it’s costumers i get great responses and delivery.

It arrived quickly and looks great. So far so good as I’ve only had it a week. The advertisement suggests that you can connect your turntable to the aux inputs……not true, unless you have a phono impedance matching device. It does indeed have 2 aux inputs which are very handy, but they are line impedance, not phono! Not a big deal, just misrepresentation. I like the unit. Large, easy to read controls, LCD screens, and a professional looking unit. I do recommend this.
September 16th, 2010 at 1:55 pm
This is actually just as nice as the CD Mix 2 we have. We bought this as the backup to it and having it with us at gigs really gives us a lot of security knowing that if the main one goes down, this one is good to go. I would definitely suggest this as a backup or even as the primary mixer for a DJ just starting out and working.

For the price, the quality of this product is unbelievable. It’s portable, allowing for quick setup and take down. It’s reliable and works very well with my other equipment. Reliability and Quality, at a very low price… I payed $177.62 total which included free shipping. This was a ridiculously good deal…a great value. You’ll get years of use and it’ll hold up to continuous handling and transportation. Several of my friends have this unit and they all swear by it. Now I’ll swear by it. Plus it’s very easy to use. I highly recommend it.

I bought the total control for my child because he is seriously into music. I get my package only to find out the total control was all scratched up. I did not order a used one, I ordered a new one. I did not know new packages come scratched up these days.
