It’s great for its size but the user’s guide doesn’t say anything for apple users about assigning buttons knobs and levers to functions because it doesn’t do it?
For audio processing, is 2.6GHz that much better than 2.4GHz?
I’m going for a MacBook Pro, but I’m on a tight budget. I’m going to be running some pretty heavy synth programs alongside ProTools, so I want a system with as much headroom as I can afford. Will upgrading to the 2.6GHz processor (offering 6MB cache over 3, as well) make that much of a difference? Synth Processor The upgrade also ups the graphics card from 256MB to 512, but I don’t think I’ll ever made use of very graphics-intensive programs (if this is wrong, the please tell me). I will also be doing Keynote presentations (song slides for my church), but that shouldn’t need anything very powerful, should it?Specs of the laptop that will not change either way:4MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM – 2×2GB200GB Serial ATA @ 7200 rpmNOTE: I would upgrade even higher, or to a quad core, if at all possible, but Apple is pretty limited with what they let you do, and these are the only options without going to a desktop. And while a desktop would be ideal for what I need, I also need portability, and don’t have the money for both right now.
