This thing is pretty great. In the legacy of the old blue Cassette 4-tracks that everyone loves, but with the convenience of an SD card. Can’t argue with the “UNDO” button!
The built-in mics are of surprisingly high quality.
Everything else is pretty simple. It does what its supposed too. Good price, too.
The only negative thing is having to EXPORT tracks to WAV before being able to move to computer.
Which digital 8 track recorder looks best to you?
I’ve been looking for a new digital recorder and I’ve seen two that interest me. One is the Boss BR-600, http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-BR600-Digital-Recorder?sku=241151The other is the Tascam DP-02CF. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Tascam-DP02CF-Digital-Portastudio?sku=241796I was really going to get the Boss-BR600, but when I was shopping for the lowest prices, Recorder Portastudio I saw that the tascam was 40% off.. and almost $200 cheaper than it is at my local store in Canada. That great deal caught my attention since the tascams regular $499 at my local store and the Boss is only regular $330. And MF.com (usually has low prices) ships it to canada which is very rare.The problem is I don’t know if the Tascam’s even better despite being $200 more? Is it on sale because it’s junk? There’s practically no info on the net, only a handful of reviews. I don’t even know what it does special that makes its regular price at my local store (long mcquade) more expensive.Can someone give me some advice? I don’t know much about these digital recorders, the boss looks great for the price and I really like it, reviews are good, specs are good. but the huge sale on the tascam is appealing. It even comes with a bigger card. So I don’t know..hope someone can offer some advice!
