The DJM-400 is a fantastic little mixer. I have had mine for over a year now, and have not had a single problem with it. I appreciate the great onboard effects and the ability to quickly snap/sync the effects to the beat of the music. Onboard phrase sampling is superb in full CD quality. Smooth faders and knobs, adjustable crossfade characteristics, and feather-light crossfader give it a great feel.

I don’t like the fact that there isn’t an XLR input for the mic and there are no XLR outputs for your mains, only RCA.

I highly suggest getting the CDJ-400’s with this mixer, they were meant to go together.

Can i connect an Ipod directly to a pro amp without a mixer?
I am looking to buy passive active professional speakers for parties my roommates and I will be throwing at are college apartment. The first few parties we used my 140 watt Logitech computer speakers paired with my roommate’s 300 watt bookshelf speakers. They worked fine for a little until the apartment filled up so now I want to get start off by getting one loud passive active speaker and an Pro Mixer amp for very cheap. I’ve been doing tons of research and I found out that dj pa speakers would be the best route to go for parties. I don’t know much about pa speakers but from doing some research I found out that they need an amplifier to power them. Also I am not looking to buy a mixer since I will mostly be using an iPod or iTunes on my laptop. Here are the products I found:Speakers: http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com…ku=580025#used Amp: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Pro-PTA10…2786217&sr=8-3Cables: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Pro-PPSJ1…_bxgy_e_text_chttp://www.amazon.com/Hosa-CMP153-St…ef=pd_sim_e_14Like I said earlier, I know this isn’t top of the line DJ equipment but we are using this equipment for college parties. My question is, can I connect my IPod directly to the amp using the 1/8 to two ¼ mono cable? The amp has a ¼ and xlr input. And if so will it damage my IPod or the speakers?
