I overlooked these for a long time. I got the Denon 1000’s under the impression that they played mp3 discs but that turned out to be a misunderstanding. I didn’t want to spend CDJ 1000 money so I went to get what I thought was the next level down, the 800’s. That’s when another DJ suggested I give the 400’s a shot. USB port for a flash drive (not on the 800’s) effects like a flanger (jet), wah and transform and the seldom used but available bubble scratch (also not on the 800’s), all in a smaller package for less money. The 800’s do have the adjustable brake, a feature not found on the 400’s, but the 400’s have a “roll” feature that works even better. I’ve had my 400’s for a year now and I still love them. In the past I’ve had laptops fail and external hard drives crash on me. Now I play all of my music from flash drives and play every weekend with no problem.I am an industry veteran and I’d tell anyone in the market for a media player to check these out. budgeted and non-budgeted opions please, idk pioneer CDj 700s Laser Parts what cdj would be the best for performing and recording mixes using serato scratch live. ive heard the cdj800mk2 is best for serato but they all have features the others dont and vice versa.
