Do Christians fully understand their own concept of hell?
They issue it as a warning as if everyone’s supposed to cower in fear.Y’alls gonna burn in HEYYYYLLLLFAAAHHHHHRRRR!but they don’t realize the very concept of hell makes people not want to get anywhere near their religionWhy?Because burning, even for a second, is an unquestionably horrific sensation. It is probably the highest form of torture. It would probably be used as an actual form of torture more often if it didn’t kiII people so quickly. To experience even five minutes burning would leave a person emotionally scarred for life, Monster Power Pro if not completely mad (and few deeds that have ever been committed on earth have EVER warranted that kind of punishment). BUT AN ETERNITY of that sensation for a few measly moments of mild pleasure during our relatively miserable lives is absolutely unconscionable.Any being that would even consider such a punishment is a horrible grisly monster and will likely torture everyone the same no matter what you did (as is evidenced by all the contradictions in the bible) basically by merely existing you’re going to hell.So even if Occam’s Razor doesn’t apply and the most obvious conclusion (it was a story invented by the Sarah Palins of 5000 bc in order to gain power and keep their followers in line) isn’t true and it’s really “god” he’s a bloodthirsty creep.And think about it for a second, If a heartless bloodthirsty monster REALLY wanted to torture somebody he’d say this: “I’m not going to torture you now. I’m going to torture you later BUT if you follow this book of rules MAYYYYYBE I won’t.”and then make the book of rules so contradictory and complicated that for 5000 years scholars haven’t been able to agree on a single interpretation.THAT’S REAL TORTURE. this guy’s a pro.
